Rehearsals:
12/16: Dress Rehearsal @ Cannon Center (in regular clothes) MANDATORY FOR ALL
Downtown Memphis Map (Click for PDF)
- Rehearsal Times:
- Arroyo, Rio, Fuente, MRC- Arrive @ 5:15 pm– be on stage in your seat by 5:30 pm. Finish 9:00 / 9:15pm.
- Nino & Corriente- Meet with Mrs. Kathrine in lobby no later than 6:45 pm (we will be ready for you at 6:30 pm). Finish 9:00 / 9:15pm.
- DROP OFF / PICK UP: To make it easies for parents, a volunteer will be at the door to the lobby of the Cannon Center on Poplar by the huge Metal Sculpture to meet singers. (See maps above.) You can pull over on the side of the road there and let your singer out. We will have someone there starting at 5pm for older singers and then again at 6:30pm for younger singers. You may also pick up your singer at this same location when we finish rehearsal Friday night (around 9:15pm). We will have parents and staff present to help get students to you. Please travel west on Poplar (from Main to Front) so your child doesn’t have to cross the street for pick-up or drop-off.
- PARKING: The parking garage is located at 266 N. Front Street, Memphis and allows easy access to the Cannon Center without leaving the building. Take the elevator to the main floor and then as you are coming down the long hall from the convention center to the Cannon Center, you will see a door on the right labeled Stage Door 131A, which will give you direct access to the stage area. If you are an audience member, you will continue down the main hall and it will lead to the lobby entrance. Nino and Corriente will meet in the lobby both Friday & Saturday.
- Regular clothes for the dress rehearsal.
- You may bring a snack and water. Best for vocal health to avoid soft drinks, etc. and these are not allowed on stage.
12/17: Call time for concert TBD, but not before 12:00 pm. (We are shooting for 1:15 pm, assuming everything goes as planned at Friday’s rehearsal. If we need to go over anything again, the call time will need to be sooner- will confirm after rehearsal Friday night.)
- 1:15 pm Call time – come dressed in concert attire and get scarf/tie upon arrival. (Tentative)
- 1:30 pm Picture with all performers (symphonic winds and dancers)
- 1:45 pm Singers can visit Santa, Elsa and Olaf in the lobby before the doors open to the public at 2 pm. (Nino/Corriente will be accompanied by their directors.)
- 2:15 pm Singers go back stage to assigned holding rooms. Use the restrooms at this time, take some selfies to post to social media etc. Please do not wander around the building. Parent volunteers will be present to supervise and help as needed.
Recording:
Brown Properties has graciously sponsored a professional recording of the concert by Message In A Bottle Productions. They utilize several high definition cameras and always produce a stellar recording so you can just sit back and enjoy the moment. If you would like to order a copy, you can do so here: https://forms.gle/MhcoaFVc38XNvDY56 There is also a direct link on the Christmas with CoroRio page of our website.
Other details:
- The concert is about an hour and 15 minutes in length.
- The lobby will be open for guests at 2pm with plenty of photo ops, and “Frozen” themed activities for kids, Santa and other Frozen Characters will also both be available for visits and photos!
- Concert attire is all black (like for pictures, please cover arms (at least 3/4 sleeves) and legs for uniformity), and we will provide a red scarf / tie upon arrival December 17th.
- Nino & Corriente will have seats in the balcony to watch the concert when they are not performing.
- All other singers will remain on the stage throughout the concert.
- CoroRio merch will be available in the lobby before the concert- t-shirts, hoodies, fleece, etc. These might make a great last minute Christmas gift for your singer!
- AFTER THE CONCERT: Singers will meet their family and friends in the lobby, EXCEPT Nino and Corriente who will be escorted to the VIP Lounge (just off the lobby on the side closest to the Metal Sculpture) where parents should come and get them. (The lobby is big and we are expecting well over 1,000 people so we don’t want little ones caught up in that.)
