Hello, CoroRio families! We’re sending out our May newsletter a few days early so that we can be ready for this weekend!
Our spring concert is this Saturday, May 4th. Below are the call times – please arrive 5-10 minutes before your choir is scheduled to be on stage for sound check. Parents, please stay in the lobby until the doors open at 3:30 – staff will meet you in the lobby to pick up Nino and Corriente singers. All other singers should enter the Heindl Center from the front right side single door marked “Employee/Student Access” (instead of entering the lobby). This will give them access backstage; staff will be there to guide students to their places for warmup and sound check. Students should come dressed and ready with only a bottle of water – please do not send your student with their music. We’ll collect music and name tags at our final rehearsal/end of year celebration on May 7th.

If you are available to volunteer on Saturday, we would greatly appreciate it! We need folks to help set up, sell, and take down the merchandise table, a few folks to pass out programs/check tickets at the door, and a few folks to assist Mrs. Kathrine with getting Nino/Corriente students on and off stage. Volunteers will need to arrive at 1:45 and will get to reserve their spots in the auditorium at that point. Please contact Rachel Cook, our parent volunteer coordinator, at 901-258-6811 to let her know what you’re able to do!
If you missed it on the Band app, Mr. Hall has an end of year survey for all singers. This will help us prepare final details for the concert, get our end of year shirts sorted, and begin making a framework for the 12th season! We want to make sure that all members who have been in CoroRio for 3 years receive their cords tomorrow at rehearsal so that they have them for the concert. Please complete this survey – as a reminder, the end of year t-shirts are included in registration (so no more money needed!) and they will be passed out at our final rehearsal/end of year celebration on Tuesday, May 7th. If you have multiple students in the program, please complete the survey once per child.
Last call for $10 preordered tickets – fill out this Google form by 8 pm tonight. Tickets will be $12 at the door on Saturday.
At the concert, we will be kicking off our Camp scholarship campaign with a raffle. Every year, we give away over 40 camp registrations to the local schools; to raise money to continue that tradition, we will be raffling off a variety of prizes – the grand prize being a Bose Bluetooth speaker valued at $170! Raffle tickets will be $5 a piece, or 5 for $20. Please spread the word about the concert and the raffle by sharing our posts on social media! Winners must be present at the concert.
Speaking of camp, time for a friends and family sale! From May 1st – May 15th, you can use the code “RioFriends” for $20 off any camp registration! Camp CoroRio will be June 10-14 this year, hosted at Cornerstone Church. PreSchool and Elementary camp will be in the morning, and Middle School and High School Camp will be in the afternoon.
