Downtown Memphis Map (Click for PDF)

Call time for concert 12:00 pm.

  • DROP OFF:  To make it easier for parents, a volunteer will be at the door to the lobby of the Cannon Center on Main to meet singers. (See maps above.)  You can pull over on the side of the road there and let your singer out. The volunteer will have a big white and teal CoroRio umbrella to make it easy to spot them. We will have someone there starting at 11:30 AM to open the doors and usher singers. Please travel west on Poplar (from Main to Front) so your child doesn’t have to cross the street for pick-up or drop-off. Please let students out by the door pictured above, the door facing the trolley track.
  • PARKING: A paid parking garage is located at 266 N. Front Street, Memphis and allows easy access to the Cannon Center without leaving the building. Take the elevator or escalator to the main floor and then as you are coming down the long hall from the convention center to the Cannon Center, you will see a door on the right labeled Stage Door 131A, which will give you direct access to the stage area. If you are an audience member, you will continue down the main hall and it will lead to the lobby entrance.
  • 12:00 pm Call time – come dressed in concert attire and get scarf/tie upon arrival. (On stage) Parents, unless you are helping in the lobby please do not plan to come back to the lobby until 3:00 when the doors open to audience members. Cannon Center staff will not be available to unlock main doors or scan tickets until that time.
  • Please eat lunch prior to arrival. You may bring a snack and water.  Best for vocal health to avoid soft drinks, etc. and these are not allowed on stage. Snacks can be kept in the holding rooms backstage, so we encourage parents to label snacks for littles.
  • 1:30 pm Picture with all performers (symphonic winds and dancers)
  • 3:00 pm Singers can visit Santa and photo booths in the lobby. Leadership team will welcome guests at the activities table. Nino/Corriente will be accompanied by their directors backstage. If parents want to take your child to meet Santa and participate in any lobby activities, directors and/or volunteers will meet you at the doors by the VIP lounge (opposite side of the lobby from the Box Office side) to check your child out and then back in at 3:45 to get in places.
  • 3:45 pm Singers go back stage to assigned holding rooms. Use the restrooms at this time, take some selfies to post to social media etc. Please do not wander around the building.  Parent volunteers will be present to supervise and help as needed.
  • 3:55 pm Places on stage
  • 4:00 pm Show time!

Recording:

Brown Properties has graciously sponsored a professional recording of the concert by Message In A Bottle Productions.  They utilize several high definition cameras and always produce a stellar recording so you can just sit back and enjoy the moment.  If you would like to order a copy, you can do so here: https://forms.gle/MhcoaFVc38XNvDY56 There is also a direct link on the Christmas with CoroRio page of our website.

Other details:

  • The concert is about an hour and 15 minutes in length.
  • The lobby will be open for guests at 3 pm with plenty of photo ops, and “Elf” themed activities for kids, Santa will be available for visits and photos!
  • Concert attire is all black (like for pictures, please cover arms (at least 3/4 sleeves and fully cover legs for uniformity*), and we will provide a red scarf / tie upon arrival December 16th. If a singer is wearing a tie, the shirt needs to have a collar. *If wearing a skirt or a dress, please either make sure the skirt/dress is full length or wear black leggings or panty hose to cover the legs.
  • Nino & Corriente will have seats in the balcony to watch the concert when they are not performing. Teachers will accompany them.
  • All other singers will remain on the stage throughout the concert.
  • CoroRio merch will be available in the lobby before and briefly after the concert.  These might make a great last minute Christmas gift for your singer!
  • AFTER THE CONCERT: Singers will meet their family and friends in the lobby, EXCEPT  Nino and Corriente who will be escorted to the VIP Lounge (just off the lobby on the side closest to the Metal Sculpture) where parents should come and get them.  (The lobby is big and we are expecting well over 1,000 people so we don’t want little ones caught up in that.)
