CoroRio Oxford - Children's and Youth Choirs

CoroRio is excited for its second instructional session in Oxford, beginning February, 2025. For students who currently participate in choir or for those who are seeking a place to sing, CoroRio Oxford offers growing singers a place to raise their voices and share the enjoyment of music with others.

CoroRio Oxford will provide opportunities to choristers in grades 2 through 12. Currently, auditions will not be required. Ensemble placement will be age-based, with students in grades 2-6 assigned to the Children’s Choir, students in grades 7-12 assigned to the Youth Choir, and with additional opportunities for both groups to sing together as a larger combined choir, as well as with the rest of the CoroRio programs at an optional spring performance. All CoroRio Oxford choir members will receive instruction in the areas of vocal technique, sight-reading, music theory, and general musicianship skills.

Our Spring 2025 nine week course begins on Tuesday, February 18 and concludes with a concert performance on Sunday afternoon, April 27 in Oxford (specific location TBD). CoroRio Oxford students are also invited to perform on the CoroRio spring concert at the Heindl Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Northwest Mississippi Community College (Senatobia) on May 3rd.
