We are so excited for Rio and Fuente to have the opportunity to sing the national anthem for the Memphis Grizzlies vs. the Toronto Raptors on Friday, December 8th at 7:00 pm at the FedEx Forum! In order for this to be a successful performance, we are asking all members of Rio and Fuente to participate. Each of you is important to the success of the group and we need all our players “in the game” for this important performance! Unfortunately, the Grizzlies cannot offer us free tickets for this performance, so every student needs to purchase a ticket to sing. We do not wish for this to be a financial burden for you, so please be sure to contact Mrs. Norris if you are unable to purchase a ticket due to financial constraints. If you have an unavoidable conflict and need to be excused from this performance, please be sure to let Mrs. Norris know no later than Tuesday, October 31st. If we do not hear from you, we will expect you to be at the performance.
Tickets can be purchased by visiting tinyurl.com/cororio17 Click “get tickets” and enter the code CORORIO17. Tickets start at $15 and go up to $75- you can choose the level where you want to sit. Parents, please keep in mind that you will have to sit in the seat you purchase for the performance. (You will not be allowed in to a lower tier without the proper ticket.) Please note that our sales rep does not recommend the $15 ticket if you are planning to stay for the game. The Grizzlies have put in some new gigantic screens and your view may be obstructed some with those tickets. I asked for them because I know not all of you will want to stay for the game. The $23 level tickets are the least expensive that our sales rep. recommended if you are planning to watch the game. Please encourage your friends and family to come out with us for a fun night with the Grizzlies!
If you prefer to call our sales rep directly rather than purchasing through the website, Jason Cockerham will be happy to to help you. You can reach him at 901.205.1477. If you would like to use money in your Charms account to order tickets, please email Mrs. Norris.
NOTE: If you want to sit with specific people in the choir, you might consider pooling your money and having one person purchase all the tickets for whoever wants to sit together so you can select the exact seats you want. Otherwise, the seats will not necessarily be all together in one section since there are different price options and sections to choose from. After the performance, parents will be responsible for their own singers as it would be impossible for us to keep up with everyone in this venue in a responsible manner. See instructions below for where to meet your singer after the performance.
Instructions for Singers:
- Contact Mrs. Norris by Oct. 31st if you have an unavoidable conflict with this performance.
- Meet outside the FedEx Forum in concert attire (teal scarf/tie) at 4:30pm WITH YOUR TICKET. We realize this is early for those that attend a late school in Desoto County. Please see if it is possible to be excused early that day. Contact Mrs. Norris if we need to make other arrangements for you.
- Parents will not be allowed inside until 5:00pm, so you might want to drop your singer off at the entrance (Mrs. Norris will be waiting there) rather than trying to park.
- Be sure to allow plenty of time for Memphis traffic and parking if you plan tonf ront park.
- No food or drinks will be allowed into the Forum. No large backpacks or duffle bags will be allowed. Purses and small drawstring bags are acceptable, but will be searched upon entry.
- Everyone who is singing and/or watching the performance will need a ticket in order to get into the arena (Even if you do not plan on staying for the game, you must have a ticket to get in).
- After we do our rehearsal and sound check, we will sit in sections 113-115 to watch the warm-up. Parents will be welcome to come join us there. Concession stands will be open during this time if you want to eat.
- At 6pm, singers will be escorted to the promotions tunnel to wait for game time. Parents are encouraged to be in their seats by 6:45 pm to ensure they don’t miss the performance.
- After the performance, parents should meet the choir in front of Section 118 and 101, which are the sections in the main entrance of the Forum as you walk in. If students are planning to leave, you can wait with the Norris’ and we will walk you to the door (as far as we are allowed to go) to meet your parents after all the other students have met their parents. Keep in mind, that after the performance, every student should have an adult who is responsible for them.
- The Grizzlies will be providing a recording of the performance for us to share with you!
