CoroCorriente & CoroArroyo
June 15-18, 2019
with Robyn Lana of the Cincinnati Youth Choir
We are honored to have been invited to sing with several children's choirs from across the country in the famed Carnegie Hall in New York City next summer. This is an amazing opportunity for our students to work with a high skilled and widely recognized children's choir expert, meet other singers from all over the country and experience Carnegie Hall and New York City!
Although Corriente has been invited to participate in this event, MCP recommends the performance for children ages 10 and up, mostly due to the focus and maturity needed for rehearsals of this caliber. If you have a singer in Corriente that is under the age of 10 that you feel is mature enough to handle this atmosphere, please contact Mrs. Norris to discuss, as these situations will be handled on a case by case basis.
Arroyo students (through 8th grade) are also welcome (and encouraged!) to participate in this opportunity. Don't let the title of "Children's Choir" scare you away. This term is traditionally used across the United States for youth choirs that go up to 12th grade. Mrs. Lana is bringing her own middle school aged choir to participate in the event, so our Arroyo students will be in good company and will have a fabulous experience as well.
Family and friends are welcome to travel with the group. Corriente students must have a parent travel with them who will be responsible for them. This can be their own parent, a family member, OR a parent of another singer who is willing to take on the responsibility of chaperoning an additional singer. Arroyo students have the option of being chaperoned by CoroRio staff members traveling with the group.
