First, let us start by clarifying that in our world, dress rehearsal just means that we are putting everything together to rehearse it like it will be in the concert (with instrumentalists and all choirs joining together)….but we do not “dress” in concert attire for this rehearsal. Normal rehearsal attire is completely appropriate for this rehearsal. We will still be at Cornerstone Church.
Tentative Schedule:
5:15 pm: Corriente and Nino ARRIVE (rehearse alone on their parts for the concert)
5:45 pm: All other choir members arrive, get a candle and find their spot for Alleluia, Rejoice
6:00 pm: Talk through the entire program, then rehearse Alleluia, Rejoice with all choirs
6:30 pm: Polar Express Medley with band and dancers
7:00 pm: Believe with Band. (Nino and Corriente will be dismissed immediately following, around 7:15 pm)
7:15 pm: Carol of the Bells with Band (Rio, Fuente, MRC). (Arroyo dismisses to rehearse alone)
7:40 pm: The First Noel (Rio, Fuente) (Band dismisses following- around 7:50 pm)
7:50 pm: O Holy Night (Rio/Arroyo/MRC)
8:00 pm: All Choirs split for individual rehearsal until 8:30. We will try our best to stay on schedule and finish on time or close to it!
Rehearsal times broken down by choir:
Nino & Corriente: 5:15-7:15pm (Please be sure they eat before they come!)
Arroyo, Rio, Fuente, MRC: 5:45- 8:30 pm
**IMPORTANT NOTE: Unless an absence from the dress rehearsal has been communicated well in advance and excused, a student missing the dress rehearsal on December 10th may result in the singer being excluded from the Christmas with CoroRio concert. We do not want to ask anyone to sit out, but it is imperative that this rehearsal be a priority for everyone in order for the concert to be successful. Dress Rehearsals and Performances:
All dress rehearsals and performances are mandatory. An absence for any reason from a final rehearsal may result in the singer being excluded from the following concert and is up to the discretion of the conductor. Punctuality is imperative, especially on concert days. Students arriving after concert doors open will not perform.
