On Tuesday, September 11th, we are inviting all of our CoroRio members to “Bring A Friend” to rehearsal. Think of friends that you know are interested in singing and invite them to come and check out a rehearsal!
Nino and Corriente will meet as usual- same time, same place- but we will do some extra fun activities to involve your friends in the rehearsal. Nino and Corriente are then invited to come join the other choirs for a World Peace Day Project from 5:45-6:30pm (see info below). (This is completely optional and separate from rehearsal, although we will go over the song we are going to use for the project briefly in rehearsal.)
Arroyo, Rio and Fuente will be meeting at Grace Bible Church (tentative- will confirm here soon), 7145 Malone Road, Olive Branch (it’s right off from Goodman- not even 10 min from Desoto Hills) starting at 5:30pm. We will combine our “Bring A Friend Night” with a World Peace Day Event that was started by one of our college professors from Florida State University, Dr. Kevin Fenton. Dr. Fenton will be Skyping in to our rehearsal to talk to us about the World Peace Project, how it impacts us, and how we can be part. We will also be rehearsing the song “Sisi Ni Moja” and then making a recording of it to submit to AVoice4Peace to use on September 21st for the International Day of Peace. We have also invited middle and high school choirs from Desoto County and the Mississippi River Chorale to join with us in this event. We plan to finish the World Peace Day project around 6:30pm and then move into separate choirs for regular rehearsal time, finishing at our normal time of 7:30pm.
