Can you believe it? We are wrapping up a wonderful Spring Season and celebrating all we’ve accomplished together. Our Spring Season celebrations begin with the Mississippi River Choral Spring Concert.

The MRC Concert will be Thursday, April 10th at Maples Memorial United Methodist Church in Olive Branch. This concert features the Mississippi River Chorale, but youth choirs are encouraged to come and support! Call time for singers is 6:15pm, and the concert will begin at 7pm. The Mississippi River Chorale members are excited to share our season with the community. Below is the announcement that was posted on Facebook. Join the Mississippi River Chorale for their annual spring concert! Donations will be taken at the door, benefitting the Reese and Joelle Norris Service Through Music Scholarship Endowment Fund. Every $5 will enter the donor into a raffle with a chance to win a free tuition for Camp CoroRio 2025 (June 23-27).
Come and hear choral classics from Rosephanye Powell and Peter Anglea, an arrangement of a traditional spiritual by Tim Osiek, and the regional premier of “My Own Soul’s Voice”, composed by our Founding Artistic Director J. Reese Norris, with piano score by CoroRio Oxford Director Dr. Saundra Bishop. You won’t want to miss this special night of uplifting choral music!

The MidSouth Music Institute and CoroRio are pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2025 Reese and Joelle Norris Service Through Music Scholarship award. This endowment fund was opened in 2024 and will be awarded annually to a student who is currently involved in CoroRio, plans to pursue a career related to music, and has demonstrated a passion for serving others through music, like Reese and Joelle. Applications are due April 15th! This year’s scholarship will be awarded at our Spring Concert on April 29, 2025.

It’s time to register for Camp CoroRio, June 23-27 at Grace Bible Church in Southaven.
- Preschool Music Camp is for singers ages 4-5, (9:15am-11:45am)
- Kids Music Camp is for singers entering grades 1st-6th (9am-noon)
- Summer Music Camp is for singers entering grades 6th-12th (1pm-5pm)
It’s a fun-filled week focused on making new friends, enjoying a wide range of musical experiences, and strengthening vocal growth and development. Children and Youth Choirs have only four more rehearsals before our Spring Concert! This is such an exciting time as we work diligently to share the gift of music with family and friends.
Admission for the Spring Concert is $10 for pre-ordered tickets and $12 at the door. As we did last year, families will receive one complimentary ticket per student in a children or youth choir. MRC members do not receive complimentary tickets to this concert since we have elected to keep the MRC Spring concert at free admission.
To preorder tickets, fill out this Google Form before Monday, April 21st. More instructions on payment and pickup are included in the form.
Important dates to note:
- Pick Up PreOrdered Spring Concert Tickets Tuesday, April 22nd
- Spring Concert Rehearsal Monday, April 28th: All choirs will rehearse from 6pm-7:30pm at Cornerstone Church. Nino & Corriente parents, please just stick around during this rehearsal as your students will be dismissed as soon as their part of the program rehearsal is finished.
- Spring Concert Tuesday, April 29th at The Heindl Center for the Performing Arts.
Everyone, please arrive five minutes before the listed call time so you can be in your place ready to sing. Call Times are as follows:- 5:40- All Youth Choirs

- Arroyo, Rio, Fuente: in assigned seats
- 6:00- MRC: in assigned seats

- Final Rehearsal/Season Wrap Up Party Tuesday, May 5th at Cornerstone during regular rehearsal times.
